Over the past 13 years, I have been exploring the artistic potential of everyday “stuff”. I enjoy working these raw materials with the geeky intensity of a Rubik’s cube puzzle master; relishing the challenge of finding meaning in objects that have become banal.  In the process, I also strive to reveal something about the materials intended function that will inform its new shape and content.  As a native Southern California artist, my artistic experience can be distilled down to two basic elements; a love of natural beauty and a deep appreciation for the osmosis of ideas and products inherent in a port city.  That said, materials are a dominant aspect of my work and I find continuous inspiration in the weird and marvelous products found in the los angelean factory districts. In form, my work heavily references the natural world.  I grew up in San Diego, CA and regularly studied at the San Diego Zoo, Sea World and Natural History museums. My fractal-like repetitive process is fueled by scientific wonder.
